I wish you could have four more just like Aidan and Kaia. I hope something works out for you. The surrogacy, the miraculous conception which last a full 38 weeks before a living, screaming, perfectly healthy baby arrives.. Oh, and causes no further damage to your heart.

Such a complicated situation.Lj82https://www.blogger.com/profile/01067562341189588336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-176061010619490822.post-36258786455144236722013-07-02T11:54:28.155-04:002013-07-02T11:54:28.155-04:00Man oh man, this is not simple. You would be better off with a surrogate carrier. I have looked into it, in India in particular, and would have gone for it if the option of carrying myself did not work out.
As for the future and for getting old, and the transplant, worry about what you can control and realize that the future is not here yet, and will not be for many, many years. It is the only way to survive a chronic illness. One thing Aidan...Gosh, I had no idea the severity!

One thing Aidan has probably taught you loud and clear is about the uncertainty in life, but then you have your heart, wanting a sibling for Kaia and the possibilities you'll have to consider for your own well being.

Goodness. That's quite a bit to toss around at the dinner table discussion. I'm sorry to hear about all this. I sure wish they were giving you different, more miraculous news.B. I don't really know what else to say....just that I'm sorry. I hope that when you do need the valve surgery, it can be done less invasively and that you never need a heart transplant.

The costs for a surrogate are staggering. I'm not sure if we will be having another baby. I want to but Ted doesn't because of his age, which I understand. But I want Emily to have a sibling she grows up with and will be there for her after we are gone. It's something I think about every day.
